Question by Roo: Why is there such a huge emphasis on sex at University?

On my first day at University i overheard a girl on the phone talking about sex, and how her room mate on the first night was having sex all night and stuff, sex is such a common topic here, girls and boys regularly use the word "shag" in a casual sense, everybody loves it, girls are equally as obsessed with it as men, men are just how they are usually but it's like with girls they come out totally, why is this?

There was this one girl who had sex with 13 out of 15 boys of the rugby team!

Why is there such a huge emphasis on sex in high school when most students don't have emotional maturity or common sense to handle it?
